December Worship Updates
Shalom,
Rabbi will be away for 3 Sabbaths December 17,24,31.
For the Friday evening services the schedule is as follows:
- Friday December 17th normal 6:30 time multimode in the Sanctuary and via ZOOM.
- Friday December 24th an early short service via ZOOM ONLY at 5:30 PM
- Friday December 31st an early short service via ZOOM ONLY at 5:30 PM
On December 24th after our service at a virtual oneg we can share our feelings about being Jewish in America during this yuletide season. On December 31st after our service at a virtual oneg we can share our feelings about being Jewish in America and talk about the highlights of the year past 2021and thoughts about the year to come 2022.
On Friday December 17th Wendy will be playing keyboard and we will not have any guitar. This is an opportunity for folks who have asked for some of the old melodies from years past to get their wish.As a multimode service everyone is encouraged to sing along LOUD and with abandon - if you attend via zoom you need not worry about how loud you sing the congregation will be muted.
So please sing out and sing strong - it is said that "Anyone who sings a prayer, prays twice!"
On Friday December 24th and 31st we opted for ZOOM only so that we have no one traveling. In years past when Shabbat falls on busy days like Christmas and New Years we have at times failed to get a quorum (MINYAN) for Kaddish.
We hope that by having an early 5:30 service via ZOOM only we will be able to get a MINYAN of 10 adults so that anyone who needs to say Kaddish for a Yahrzeit has support.
