Beyond Denial: Making Sense of Antisemitism after October 7

Why many Jews feel unseen, silenced, or blamed—and how understanding rhetorical patterns can bring clarity.

Join Rabbi David Edleson for a Brunch & Learn on Sunday, December 21, 2025, 12:00–1:30 pm. Through the lens of October 7, we’ll examine two powerful frameworks: DARVODeny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender—and the “3 D’s”Delegitimization, Demonization, and Double Standards. Drawing clear parallels to patterns long recognized in domestic-violence work, Rabbi David will unpack why certain accusations are antisemitic, how they invert responsibility, and why many Jews feel gaslit in public discourse. We’ll explore practical ways to recognize these dynamics, and respond with clarity and compassion.

Brunch provided. All are welcome; mature teens and adults recommended. Content note: discussion will reference violence and October 7.

Cook and Serve at Hope Lodge with Chaverim and Knitzvah

Cook and Serve at Hope Lodge with Chaverim and Knitzvah

Join Chaverim and Knitzvah once a month in preparing a meal for 12-15 guests at the Hope Lodge in Burlington.   It is a place where cancer patients and their families can stay while they undergo treatment if they live more than an hour away from the hospital. The stay is free to them and includes nightly communal dinners.  The Hope Lodge increases access to vital health care as well as providing a community for support. It really is a special place that provides so much in a really challenging time.

We arrive at the Lodge at 5pm so that we can serve dinner at 6pm. Volunteers are encouraged to eat with the guests as well and then help with clean up.  Everything usually wraps up around 7pm.

Would you like to help bring light and cheer to those in our community who need support?  To sign up, please email deborah.leopold@templesinaivt.org.
