Next Week in Israel

Next week ( July 9th) I will be boarding a plane to Israel with 9 other moms from Temple Sinai. I have been planning this trip for over a year and yet it feels like it has snuck up on me. The trip is run through Momentum. If you want a short video on what the trip is, here is the video.

The qualification for people to go on this particular trip is that you have to be a mother with a child under 18. It’s a fantastic way to bring Judaism into our homes and share the love of Israel with our kids. While I know everyone in the group, a lot of them didn’t know each other. I feel the group has really clicked and have started true friendships.

I wasn’t sure if we would have enough interest and we had more than enough! We had over 15 people applying for the 10 available spots. The group has met multiple times and we will meet once a month when we return to talk about different Jewish values. It has been wonderful getting to know the ladies better but mostly to see relationships growing amongst everyone. We will all be out of our comfort zone, traveling with people we have never traveled with, to a country most of us have never been to. It’s brave and I commend them on putting themselves out there.

The group has a packed schedule and we will have some kind of a presentation to share at some point when we return. I know this experience is going to be life-changing for all of us in one way or another. I am nervous, anxious, and excited to travel to Israel and we are so thankful for this opportunity.

So . . . I will be out of the office from July 9th through the 19th. What can you do to help, you might ask? I will not be checking email regularly as our days are packed, so please contact Rabbi if you need something immediately. Please consider sponsoring an oneg this week or any Friday in July. We need your help!!

I look forward to telling you all about our trip and wish you all a Happy July 4th holiday!
